Pričujoče delo je spominski zbornik, v katerem so objavljeni predvsem referati z znanstvenega srečanja, ki ga je v počastitev stote obletnice rojstva akademika, prof. dr. Dragotina Cvetka, utemeljitelja sodobne slovenske muzikologije, priredil Muzikološki inštitut Znanstvenoraziskovalnega centra SAZU ob podpori Agencije za raziskovalno dejavnost in Slovenske akademije znanosti in umetnosti. Poleg referatov, ki so bili predstavljeni v štirih prepletajočih se in vsebinsko povezanih sklopih (o življenju in delu Dragotina Cvetka, o preobrazbah nacionalnih glasbenih historiografij, o vprašanjih evropske glasbene historiografije ter o muzikologiji ter njenem prehajanju od nacionalnega proti globalnemu) so v knjigi objavljeni tudi nekateri osnovni podatki o slavljencu in nekaj prav spominu naj napisanih besedil.
