The article aims to demonstrate that Boccaccio follows the method used by medieval exegetes of the Metamorphoses: rejecting the pagan contents of the myth, the commentators offered an allegorical and moralising interpretation, in fact rewriting the Metamorphoses as a 'medieval' work. |
