Anhand einer systematischen Forschungssynthese von empirischen Studien zur Gentrifizierung in deutschen Städten arbeitet Jan Üblacker die Entwicklung des Forschungszweigs auf. Dabei bezieht er auch eine Vielzahl bisher nicht berücksichtigter Qualifikationsarbeiten ein und zeigt, dass deren Herangehensweisen und Befunde einen deutlichen Mehrwert für die Stadtforschung erbringen.
