In der Wissenschaft der Sozialen Arbeit gibt es verschiedene Ansätze der Erklärung, womit das sozialberufliche Handeln beschäftigt ist, wie es verfasst ist und worauf es sich auszurichten hat. Dazu gehört seit nun etwa 40 Jahren die ökosoziale Theorie. Sie stellt eine konzeptionelle Grundlegung Sozialer Arbeit dar, die vom Haushalt gemeinsamen Lebens und seinem Unterhalt ausgeht.
