The possibility of ensuring social distancing is small, many inmates are regarded as a vulnerable group and staff cannot be dispensed with. Worldwide, there are reports from prisons of an enormous number of cases. This was not the case in Swiss prisons. Here, the COVID-19 pandemic was managed well. This book presents results from a nationwide study in prisons on the handling and management of the pandemic. The book is suitable for practitioners in the prison system, as well as people working in closed contexts and those interested in the topic of the penal system.
