Das Adhäsionsverfahren ermöglicht die Prüfung zivilrechtlicher Ansprüche im Strafverfahren. Seine gesetzliche Regelung in Art. 122 ff. StPO ist jedoch sehr rudimentär und unvollständig. Rechtsprechung und Lehre haben sich bisher kaum mit der Unvollständigkeit des Verfahrens oder dem damit verbundenen Koordinierungsdefizit von Straf- und Zivilprozessrecht auseinandergesetzt. Die Arbeit zeigt, wie Rechtslücken in Adhäsionsverfahren geschlossen und Straf- und Zivilprozessrecht sozusagen aufeinander abgestimmt werden können. Die Arbeit zeigt, welche Leitprinzipien für die Lückenfüllung entscheidend sind. Es erläutert den Umgang mit Kollisionen zwischen Straf- und Zivilprozessrecht.
