El presente estudio es una retrospectiva sociológica sobre el surgimiento de lo mejor de la intelectualidad republicana en el Perú como resultado centenario de la revolución de su independencia a través de sus generaciones más representativas: la del 900, la Generación del Centenario y la del 30, principalmente. Es una interpretación histórica que da cuenta cómo el impacto de la Independencia se va diluyendo en el tiempo y, a pesar del ulterior incremento incesante de intelectuales, en todo orden, ya no contamos con referentes que brillen con luz propia como los que formaron la Intelligentsia de la época de oro que compartieron las generaciones antedichas.
