Diese Studie untersucht die ‚Reisen‘ politischer Konzepte zwischen Frauenbewegungen des Westens um 1900 und postuliert, dass für die historische Analyse sozialer Bewegungen, unabhängig davon, ob diese transnational aktiv waren oder nicht, die Auseinandersetzung mit Transferpraktiken, die Räume des Austauschs über sprachliche und andere Grenzen hinweg schaffen, von eminenter Bedeutung ist. Anhand einer biografischen Fallstudie zur deutschen Feministin Käthe Schirmacher werden politische Reisetätigkeit, transnationaler Journalismus und Übersetzung als einflußreiche aber häufig wenig sichtbare Formen des Transfers in und zwischen sozialen und politischen Bewegungen thematisiert.
