| الملخص: | This collective work contains ten interesting chapters in regards to the development of Intercultural Universities in Contemporary Mexico, paying attention to constitutional and legal reforms in the sphere of human rights in indigenous communities. Under the perspective of interdisciplinarity, the authors display the projection of historical and ideological changes in Mexican Higher Education. In this sense, the Intercultural model of universities have the purpose of resolving diverse problems in rural and indigenous municipalities and localities. This aim is based on the respect of indigenous cosmovisions and epistemologies. The unfavorable circumstances in local economy of coffee producers in the Totonac town of Huehuetla (State of Puebla), the main risks in health of adolescent population or the ignorance in human rights are some illuminated troubles in this book. Additionally, the intercultural universities plan and execute projects of community bonding that are starring by higher students and indigenous groups, such as Primary students, peasant women and local public officials, among others. These projects are strategies aimed at improving living conditions of vulnerable collectives of population. |
