| Sumari: | In recent years, research in the performing arts (theatre, music, dance, circus, performance, etc.) has seen an inflation of the notion of the ‘field’. Derived from the human and social sciences, and in particular from ethnographic practice, ‘terrain’ now permeates methodological discourse and practice. This book examines and analyses the polysemous notion of ‘terrain’ at the crossroads between the performing arts and the human and social sciences (anthropology, ethnology, sociology). It is divided into three complementary sections. The first, ‘Le terrain au croisement des disciplines: réflexions épistémologiques et méthodologiques’ (The field at the crossroads of disciplines: epistemological and methodological reflections), is based on field reports and case studies with a reflective dimension. The second strand, ‘Postures of the researcher and learning through the body’, deals with the experiential approach, which questions the different postures of the researcher in the field. Finally, the last section, ‘Artistic creation with/on the field’, is devoted to the place of field research in artistic creation, in terms of both the creative process and the various methods explored. Taken together, the contributions circumscribe the notion of ‘field’ in its multiple meanings and disciplinary approaches in a contemporary reading. |
