| description | Title in English: Student’s willingness to communicate in teaching at university This study examines university students’ willingness to communicate during English classes measured through four basic language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. The aim was to investigate the level of this willingness and identify factors that may influence it. The results of the research show that students generally show willingness to communicate in English in class, while there are no significant differences between individual language skills. However, more than two-thirds of students showed moderate to high levels of communication anxiety. The most frequent reason for communication was the need for information or advice regarding the curriculum, but also the desire to demonstrate one’s knowledge or help others. The research points to the need for further research that would compare the declared willingness to communicate with the actual behaviour of students during the learning process. The book also contains a summary of five simple rules that should be followed not only when teaching English at university. It is therefore intended for everyone who is interested in the study of foreign languages. |
