Περίληψη:The main objective of the publication was to examine human resources in public IT and food companies. The first sub-objective was to determine the impact of human capital on the economic and financial situation, and the second was a comparative analysis of selected companies that are listed in the WIG-informatyczny and WIG-spożywczy indexes. The timeframe adopted covered the last five years in which these entities operated, i.e. 2018–2022. Methods of economic-financial and statistical analysis were used to assess the effectiveness of their human capital. The results of the research showed that, for many of the public companies analysed, human resources are an important part of the company’s operations, and that the level of costs incurred by the companies studied reflected the general trends associated with changes in salaries in recent years. The results confirm that it is important for those receiving and generating economic benefits and expenses to adequately reward the employed people who work for the results of the companies studied.
