| Summary: | Education for sustainable development, ecological transition, climate emergency, biodiversity preservation, Anthropocene, sustainability... These concepts and approaches originate from different contexts and areas of knowledge production, and we tend to confuse them. This tenth volume in the collection features six contributions that seek to define the terms of debate and the role of education for ecological transition within the school system. Specifically, the authors explore the tension between mere technical curricula adjustments and in-depth education transformation to address environmental challenges. They analyse the pedagogical, epistemological and political challenges associated with this integration, as well as the professional attitudes of teachers towards these complex issues. Ultimately, these texts make the case for a more political, emancipatory and critical curriculum, using tools from different disciplines to foster fundamental transformations in the face of environmental and social challenges. |
