Opis
Izvleček:This monograph offers a systematic and practice-oriented exploration of key principles in assessment, with a focus on modern foreign language education. While examinations have long been embedded in institutional learning contexts, their didactic foundations and implications have often remained underexamined. The reflections and analyses presented here, though rooted in the field of language teaching, are potentially transferable to other subject areas. The work outlines the development of assessment pedagogy as an emerging field and proposes a theoretical framework for its academic positioning. It discusses essential conditions for the design and implementation of written and oral examinations and presents initial findings from a survey conducted among examiners. The monograph also applies the principles of assessment pedagogy specifically to philological disciplines and practical language instruction. By identifying areas of future research, this study contributes to the advancement of reflective and research-based assessment practices. It is intended for educators at all levels, scholars in language education, language instructors, students of modern philologies, and individuals involved in examination processes in foreign language contexts.
