Zusammenfassung:Somos Sur is a book for teaching and learning Spanish as an additional language, with activities designed for university students in Brazil—regardless of their field of study—to access Latin American literature and explore the relationship between language and society. In this way, the book highlights Latin America's rich cultural diversity through literary works. Its structure consists of a sequence of five didactic units that promote the real use of language through a selection of literary texts addressing socio-historical themes from our region. The methodological approach is based on dialogic interaction and collaborative work, fostering responsible and autonomous learning. Dialogicity encourages discursive and intercultural practice, as literature enhances meaningful learning. The selected texts and teaching materials are aligned with the curricular guidelines of Brazil’s Ministry of Education and Culture, addressing topics such as environmental education, human rights, and ethnic-racial relations, among others. It functions as a hypertext in contrast to the linearity characteristic of traditional textbooks. This allows teachers to design their own lesson plans according to the needs and interests of the group and their educational context, as the activity sequences (units and sections) do not follow a fixed progression of content.
