| Resumo: | The research line in Cognition, Brain, and Learning of the Quality of Life research group (CAVIDA) from the School of Social and Human Sciences at the Pontificia Bolivariana University, and the research line in Neurosciences and Neurodevelopment of the Speech-Language Pathology and Psychology research group from the Faculty of Health at the Santiago de Cali University, present to the academic and scientific community Volume Five of the book Reaches in Cognitive Neurosciences (Alcances en Neurociencias Cognitivas).
This is a space created for conversation, reflection, and debate of ideas surrounding the paradigm of cognitive neurosciences and its applicability in different disciplinary and professional fields.
In this edition, the editorial team has integrated six chapters that aim to define comprehensive approaches to developmental issues focused on phenomena such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), behavioral disorders, and second language acquisition. Additionally, in a daring manner but with respect for the reader, three products have been integrated that seek to propose paradigmatic models with intervention objectives for social problems, and with implications in video games, school improvement, and social cognition.
The book begins with the chapter titled, "Deciphering ADHD: Multi-omic and Neuropsychological Routes from Childhood to Adulthood," by Nicolas Garzón, María Muñoz, María Quiroz, Ignacio Briceño, and Humberto Nicolini, describing a conceptual and argumentative proposal on the need to understand the phenomenon from an integrative multi-omic approach that includes variables of functional analysis of a biological, psychological, and social nature. The conclusions open up the debate and the necessity of addressing the phenomenon from a multidisciplinary understanding. |
