| Crynodeb: | Whether an illness is recognized as an occupational disease depends largely on proving its occupational causation. Although it is well established that workplace stress is widespread and a frequently reported phenomenon, illnesses triggered by it are rarely recognized as occupational diseases in the practice of accident insurance law. Assessing causation requires linking epidemiological findings with the specific circumstances of the individual case. This interdisciplinary study demonstrates how epidemiological insights can be more effectively integrated into the assessment of occupational diseases in the future. The analysis under accident insurance law is complemented by a discussion of the relevant employment law disputes. |
