Beskrivelse
Summary:The Framework Plan for Kindergartens shapes the everyday lives of children and staff and expresses society’s prevailing view of children and childhood. This anthology examines how the current framework plan from 2017 works in kindergartens and the kindergarten sector—through different perspectives, methods, and types of sources. The anthology addresses two overarching themes: First, how kindergarten authorities, owners, staff, and other actors understand the goals and intentions of the framework plan and how they experience implementing it. Second, it investigates how the same actors use the framework plan through deep dives into selected areas: the subject areas in kindergarten, progression as a way of working, Sami perspectives, and work on children’s transitions—from home to kindergarten, within kindergarten, and from kindergarten to school. In addition, it examines the significance of a strengthened owner role and the municipalities’ role as supervisory authorities. The anthology is suitable for bachelor’s and master’s students and researchers in kindergarten teacher education programs, principal/leadership programs, as well as kindergarten staff and others in the kindergarten field.
