Beskrivelse
Summary:This book focuses on leadership theories that emerged from the early 1980s, often referred to as newer leadership theories. It summarizes a selection of these and also shows how they are applied in a range of empirical and conceptual works. The theories applied are transformational leadership, transactional leadership, values-based leadership, identity-based leadership, self-leadership, distributed leadership, cynical (Machiavellian) leadership, destructive leadership, and a practice approach to leadership. The various contributions are also discussed in light of the importance of context for shaping leadership style, leadership role, and leader identity. Context is understood here as organization, situation, and Norwegian working-life culture. The book is aimed at everyone who wants to understand the leadership role in light of newer leadership theories and the importance of different contexts.
