Descripció
Sumari:The claims analysis was developed in social movement studies to systematically analyse and evaluate the claims made by political actors in various contexts. In the context of political communication, we can identify two major approaches to claims making. The first stream considers political claims created and put forward by various actors within mediated public discourse. The second stream looks at the direct communication of political actors within a hybrid media system. Claims analysis integrates discursive and framing elements into a methodological framework for understanding political claims made by political and public actors within the public sphere. Claims analysis allows researchers to dynamically trace relational exchanges in the public debate and across different research contexts, publics, and time. It also helps examine claims diffused in news media discourses and online discussions, offering insights into how social issues are defined and addressed in public opinion disputes.
