| Sumari: | This book offers a critical and forward-looking analysis of the evolution of the industrial revolutions from Industry 1.0 to Industry
8.0, exploring the relationship between technology, ethics, society, and human consciousness. The work begins with the
recognition of a global crisis marked by environmental degradation, social inequality, and the excessive use of technology,
highlighting the limitations of traditional industrial models focused solely on efficiency and economic growth. Industry 5.0 is
presented as the return of the human being to the center of the productive system, promoting human–machine collaboration,
conscious leadership, and dignity in the workplace. Industry 6.0 expands this vision by integrating technological justice, social
responsibility, and the role of the state and academia in the ethical regulation of innovation, directing technology toward the
reduction of social gaps and collective well-being. Industry 7.0 redefines the purpose of industry by orienting it toward planetary
regeneration, a true circular economy, and the protection of natural systems, recognizing water, air, and soil as fundamental
assets for life. At this stage, engineering assumes an active responsibility in environmental restoration and the prevention of
ecological damage. Industry 8.0 represents the highest level of civilizational maturity outlined in the book, where science
acknowledges its limits, technology is subordinate to ethics and human conscience, and knowledge is used to serve the common good. Artificial intelligence and advanced systems gain legitimacy only when they respect human dignity and intergenerational responsibility. The book highlights the strategic role of engineering education through the EENTITLE project and iPEER certification as pillars for training professionals who are conscientious, ethical, and committed to industrial transformation. The work concludes with a vision of legacy, where the integration of science, values, and faith is presented as the foundation for humane, just, and sustainable industrial development, serving present and future generations. |
