| Итог: | The present volume is based on the contents of the Ph.D. course entitled “The Alexandrov-Bakelman-Pucci Method and Its Applications”, held in the second semester of the academic year 2023–2024 at the Dipartimento di Matematica e Applicazioni “Renato Caccioppoli” of the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II by Professor Daniele Castorina. The course was repeated in July 2025 at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Cagliari and was attended by Filippo Cassanello, Marco Casula, and Alessandro Columbu, who prepared these lecture notes. In this volume, we present the Alexandrov-Bakelman-Pucci method and some of its applications to the theory of elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations, with particular attention to maximum principles, a priori estimates, and qualitative properties of solutions. |
