This study presents four ideal-typical orientation patterns when dealing with the issue of belonging. Lehrpersonen sind nicht nur herausgefordert, anerkennend mit sozialen Differenzen und Zugehörigkeiten ihrer Schülerinnen und Schüler umzugehen – sie sind auch selbst in soziale Grenzziehungsprozesse involviert und machen mitunter eigene Erfahrungen von Begrenzung oder prekarisierter Zugehörigkeit. Carola Mantel rekonstruiert, inwiefern diese Erfahrungen lebens- und berufsgeschichtlich prägend sind und wie Lehrende daraus Orientierungsmuster für ihr pädagogisches Handeln ableiten.
