The study asks about these competences and at the same time finds out what influence they have on learning success in distance learning. On this basis, a typification of ambitious, relaxed, networking and isolated distance learners can be made. Finally, recommendations for distance learners and distance teachers are derived from the results.

Die Studie öffnet den Blick auf die Lebenswelt von Fernstudierenden, wobei sich Parallelen zum Homeschooling während der Corona-Pandemie finden lassen. Fernstudierende sind in der Regel ältere Studierende, die über eine Fülle an Kompetenzen im privaten, beruflichen und studentischen Bereich verfügen. Nach diesen Kompetenzen fragt die Autorin und eruiert, welchen Einfluss sie auf den Lernerfolg im Fernstudium nehmen. Die Studie identifiziert eine Typisierung von ambitionierten, gelassenen, netzwerkenden und isolierten Studierenden.
