| Riassunto: | This book proposes an academic and applied approach to designing, testing, and improving business models in contexts of uncertainty. It begins with a conceptual discussion of the business model in management and the need to define it as a construct for analyzing value creation, delivery, and capture. It incorporates the Business Model Canvas as a language of representation to make assumptions, relationships, and key decisions visible. The central development organizes design as an architecture of hypotheses prioritized by risk and impact, and validation as an iterative process of experimentation: falsifiable formulation, MVP, controlled tests, actionable metrics, ex ante thresholds, and decision rules for iterating, persevering, or pivoting. Traceability between hypotheses, evidence, and decisions is emphasized. It then integrates metrics, finance, and scaling, highlighting unit economics, signs of product-market fit, and growth governance to avoid amplifying an unvalidated model. The conclusion translates Lean practice into academic-scientific standards: rigor and validity, operationalization and reliability, triangulation and bias control, replicable protocols (log, experimental plan, dashboard, and evidence repository), as well as ethics, teaching cases, and publication guidance, to produce verifiable and useful knowledge in teaching and research. |
