Riassunto:This chapter begins with a brief analysis of the introduction and spread of computing as a school subject in primary schools since the early 1980s. It describes a slow process marked by changes of direction, with the educational establishment considering computing more as a way of thinking or as a set of tools, depending on the time. Although a second-degree subject in informatics was created in France in 2020, the educational authorities do not currently seem to be prepared to reinforce their instructions regarding the inclusion of computing as an object of knowledge and culture at primary school. Secondly, we present some points of reference on the establishment of a French-speaking research community on the didactics of informatics, and some thoughts on what participatory research can contribute in terms of problematising the issue of informatics in primary education.
